A nasal and oral endotracheal tube with an X-ray line refers to a specialized type of endotracheal tube used for both nasal and oral intubation. These tubes are designed with a radiopaque X-ray line embedded along their length. This X-ray line allows healthcare providers to visualize the position of the tube on X-ray images, ensuring it is correctly placed within the trachea (windpipe) during intubation procedures. This is crucial for effective ventilation and oxygenation of patients in critical care scenarios. The ability to use the tube in both nasal and oral routes provides flexibility depending on the patient's condition and medical needs.

 

Ventilation: Once in place, the cuff is inflated to secure the tube and prevent aspiration. Ventilation is then provided through the tube either manually (using a bag-valve mask) or mechanically (through a ventilator), delivering oxygen-rich air directly into the lungs.
